Spring 2 - Week 6 - Weekly Update

Weekly update for Y3

Spring Term - Week 6 - Weekly Update
Year 3 children have worked exceptionally hard this week. They have completed their end of term assessments and most have made incredible progress - we are very proud of them all. We were treat to a fantastic performance from the children who attend Rock Steady and WOW what a performance it was.  A massive well done to Theo and Roman from Miss Brown's class and Dakota and Luke from Mrs Pritchard's class.

Notices:

  • We still have a number of our parents/carers who have not connected to our class dojo. This is a great resource for parents to see all the wonderful things our classes get up to whilst at school. Please check your emails and get in contact if you have any problems logging in.
  • It's been a busy week for residential preparations! The final medical forms are being collected, payments are coming in and food options are being collected. If you haven't registered your child's food options yet, please head on over to your emails and complete the google form. There will be lots of information being sent out over the next few weeks so please keep a check on your emails and communication from school.
  • Mrs Pritchard and I would also like to invite parents, carers, grandparents and anyone from the family who would like to attend our open lessons which are being held on Wednesday the 27th March. It is a wonderful opportunity to see what the children get up to in lessons.
  • The children break up for the Easter holidays on Thursday 28th March and return on Monday the 15th April.
  • All children need their PE kit on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
  • All children need their library books on Wednesday with reading journals. Reading journals should be in school every day along with a water bottle.
  • This week's learning:

  • In Maths, we will be continuing our unit on fractions looking at adding and subtracting fractions.
  • In English, we will be continuing our genre of persuasive leaflets and writing our final pieces.
  • In reading, we will be analysing different types of writing genres and answering a range of questions.
  • In PSHE, we are continuing to learn about how we can keep ourselves healthy through food and diet.
  • In Geography, we will be continuing our work around famous landmarks.
  • In Science, we will be completing work around animals including humans and our work on skeletons.
  • In DT we will making our final piece (our Sandwich). Please check your email regarding the plans for Wednesday the 27th of March.

Due to the Rock Steady concert, special mentions assembly has been moved to next week so please keep your eyes peeled for the children who have been awarded one next week.

We hope our lovely children have a restful and enjoyable weekend after a busy week at school. We've got some exciting things planned for next week, and we cannot wait to share them with you all.
