In History, we learnt about Boudicca and the Iceni tribe. We had a great lesson where we acted out the rebellion and the battle against the Romans (Miss Brown was a Roman: what a traitor!) and the children really enjoyed the debate over whether Boudicca was a hero or a villain.
In maths, we have started learning about money. We are enjoying using the coins to buy items and calculate our change. The children have been working well together to solve money problems too.
In PSHE this week, we learnt all about the people who can help us. We watched a video showing a real 999 call, and we acted out the different roles of police officers and children needing help. We also learnt how important it is not to make hoax calls to 999.
We've completed our art work this week after spending some time looking at John Dyer's 'Rainforest' and using wax crayons with different techniques for layering and scratching.
In science, we've started our new topic on plants. This week we used Venn diagrams to sort different plants into categories, coming up with our own headings. The children were great at this!
We've had a great time in our English lessons this week learning how the Egyptians created mummies! Next week, we'll be writing our instructions using everything we've learnt this week.
