End of Summer 1 Updates and Looking Forward to Summer 2
Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.
What a fantastic half term we've had. Thank you for your support this half term as the children completed a sponsored walk - your efforts managed to halve the cost of the trip so well done!
We studied three different poets and wrote poems in their styles in English lessons.
We worked on our understanding of fractions and decimals as well as completing weekly arithmetic tests and regularly worked on our times tables in maths.
In the wider curriculum, we studied world war 1 in history, living things and their habitats in science and made our own pieces of art work in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe.
We also started our block of swimming lessons which the children are really enjoying.
Looking forward, next half term is due to be a cracker!
We have a trip planned to the national coal mining museum which the children are really excited about.
We have STEM week, a summer fair and a sports day to look forward to.
We will continue our swimming lessons as well as many other exciting new topics in our wider curriculum lessons.
After just five more weeks with the current teachers, the children will transition into their new classes with their new teachers - more details on this to follow at a later date.
