End of Autumn 2 week 2 Messages and Updates

Another great week and here comes the residential!

End of Autumn 2 Week 2 Message and Updates

The excitement is building as we get ever closer to our residential visit to Castleton!

UPDATES:

Mr MacDonald will be taking 40 very excited children (along with Mr Hayes, Mr Wilkinson, Miss Bailey and Miss Abbott) to Castleton on Tuesday morning. We look forward to seeing the children nice and early (the children are welcome to arrive from 7:30 and we ask that everyone attending the residential is at school no later than 7:45am). After a quick kiss and cuddle goodbye, it's time for parents to put their feet up whilst their children go exploring in the beautiful setting that is Castleton. Keep your eyes on the year 4 X page for picture updates throughout our visit.

Any children not attending the residential will be taught in school by Miss Crawshaw. These children need their PE kits for Wednesday.

The children should be bringing their reading books and reading journals in every day of the week and will be given chance to change their library books on Tuesday.

Next week:
We're off to Castleton! We will be doing so many brilliant things that the children may never have had the opportunity to try before including:

- exploring Treak Cliff Cavern and finding out why the caves in Castleton are unlike any others in the world.

- exploring Castleton village, discussing the similarities and differences between Castleton and Rawmarsh.

- partaking in a night walk on the grounds of Losehill Hall

- climbing a mountain - Mam Tor

- Archery

- Shelter building

The children staying at school will have a Castleton theme to their work so that they can feel part of the experience and join in the conversations when we return on Thursday.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday.
