What a Busy Week!

Year 6 Weekly Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

Wow – what a fantastic and jam-packed week we’ve had in Year 6!

In English, we’ve been getting creative by exploring the key features of narrative writing and working hard to include them in our own stories. There have been some brilliant ideas, and we can’t wait to see how they develop!

In Maths, we’ve dived into the world of algebra – forming expressions and getting to grips with this new way of thinking. The children have shown great resilience and curiosity as they tackle this topic.

For Reading, we’ve moved on to Chapter 7 of Pig Heart Boy, and the discussions around the story have been fantastic! It’s great to see the children so engaged and thinking deeply about the themes in the book.

In Science, we’ve been exploring how animals and plants have adapted to their environments over time—some fascinating discoveries were made, and we had some great discussions about survival in extreme habitats.

We’ve also wrapped up our Spanish unit and completed our assessments – a huge well done to everyone for their effort!

And to top it all off, today we had a brilliant time celebrating NSPCC Number Day with lots of fun, number-themed activities!

It’s been a super busy and productive week – we hope everyone has a well-earned rest over the weekend.

Have a great weekend!

The Year 6 Team 😊
