Dear parent/guardian,

You may be aware from media coverage that the National Education Union (NEU) have declared strike action in relation to pay issues. I’m sure many of your hearts dropped at the thought of the school being closed and you having to sort out alternate arrangements but I can now confirm that Rosehill will NOT be engaging in the strike action and that school will remain open as normal on the 1st February.

First of all, not all of the unions were able to strike due to issues with post over Christmas while the few who are eligible have chosen not to participate in this first strike day.

The planned dates for NEU strikes are as follows:

Day 1: Wednesday 1 February 2023

Day 2: Tuesday 28 February 2023

Day 3: Wednesday 15 March 2023

Day 4: Thursday 16 March 2023

Whilst we remain fully open on the first planned day, I can’t promise that this will be the same outcome for all strike action moving forward.

I am aware that a number of local schools are not in the same position as ourselves and are having to close either fully or partially. For those of you with children across more than one school, we are really sorry for any impact this may have on your personal circumstances and ask for your understanding on this.

We will keep you fully updated if the circumstances change over the coming weeks regarding the next 3 planned strike days.
