May the force be with you!
Super scientists!
As part of their 'Forces' topic this term, the pupils worked in small groups to investigate whether the mass of an object affects the force of gravity acting upon it. By dropping a golf ball and a ping pong ball simultaneously, the children discovered that the mass of the objects did not affect the speed at which they reached the ground. Instead, they fell together as the force of air resistance was equal, due to both balls being the same size and shape.
Fantastic work year 5!
