Following researching different bird hides, designing our very own bird hides, and practising different ways of joining materials (art straws this time), this week saw year 5 start the construction phase of our project.

The children were put into brand-new pairs, giving them an opportunity to work collaboratively with someone different this week and we are very pleased with the results.

The children started by measuring out different lengths of art straws in order to build their frame before joining them using one of the methods they practised last week.

Our next step is to make the frames more sturdy before designing the outer part of the bird hides. We can't wait to see what they end up looking like.
