End of Autumn 1 Week 4 Messages and Updates

Another great week in year 5 as we prepare ourselves for our residential visit to Kingswood next week.

Highlights this week have included another great set of spelling test results which shows the children have been practising at home, cracking rounding in maths and we had a special visitor - Sarah from Tech She Can - read the blog for more details.

Another positive to note is the logging of home reading using boom reader as nearly everyone in year 5 has started doing this on a much more regular basis! What a great effort from children and parents- well done everyone!

Notices:

All children attending the residential will need to be at school for 8am on Monday morning. All children not attending the residential will need to attend school as normal to take part in a special project with Mrs Bourke!

Next week's learning:
Teamwork, turn taking, supporting others, surviving the great outdoors and growing independence as we enjoy the following activities:

- Problem Solving

- Archery

- Shelter building

- Campfire

- Leap of Faith

- Nightline

- Fire lighting

- Quick Zip

- Scrapheap challenge

- 3G swing

- Laser Tag

The children staying in school will be learning all about the Greek hero Hercules and his 12 labours, creating a play and making props before performing for the rest of the class on Thursday next week.
