End of Spring 1 Week 2 Messages and Updates

Please enter an introduction for your blog post here.

What a great week that was! We published our coastal erosion explanations, enjoyed developing our dance skills and continued following Jim's story as we read our novel Street Child by Berlie Doherty.

UPDATES:

All children need their PE kits for Monday and Wednesday each week.

The children should be bringing their reading books and reading journals in every day of the week and will be given chance to change their library books on Tuesday.

Next week:

- In Maths, we will be learning how to multiply and divide numbers by 10 and 100.
- In English, we will be starting a second unit of recount writing - this time writing a diary recount from the perspective of a working child during Victorian times.
- In Reading, we will be continuing to improve our answers to vocabulary, retrieval and inference questions through our novel 'Street Child'

- In Science, we will be continuing our unit all about electricity - looking at what makes a circuit.
- In History, we will be continuing our unit 'Industrial Revolution' - ask the children about what the impact of inventions on Victorian Britain was.
- In PSHE, we will be continuing our unit of 'Looking after our bodies'.
- In PE, we will be continuing to develop our understanding of movements in dance, responding to pieces of music.

- In Art, we will continue our study of Lowry.

- In MfL, we will look at how to ask about peoples' families.

- In computing we will look at how we can write algorithms to create simple shapes.

Keep working on those times table facts as we continue our push towards June and the multiplication check.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday.
